Make sure you have the LAMEX wallpaper DIY kit tools like roller, soft roller, bucket, LAMEX glue, sponge, scraper, pencil, measuring tape & utility knife.
Make sure your walls are not cracked, has glossy paint or has mold or moisture on it. Walls should be clear and without bumps for the best effect.
For 1 to 2 rolls of wallpaper, gently mix half a packet of LAMEX glue in 4 litres of water & leave it alone for 1 hour to become more "kau" (thick).
Measure height and width of wall using a measuring tape.
Mark every 21" horizontally across the wall and take note how many pieces you'll need to cut later.
Add 3" to the total wall height and cut the first piece (piece A) using a utility knife.
Follow LAMEX pattern match symbols.
If it’s ‘with matching’, add 21" to the next piece and match the design to the first piece of wallpaper. (piece B)
Match A to A, B to B and remove any excess wallpaper.
If it's 'no matching' (same pattern), simply cut the same length for all pieces.
Apply glue evenly on paper using a roller, then fold and set aside for installation later.
Paste wallpaper on wall, flatten out wallpaper using a scraper.
Don't worry about the glue drying up too quickly! Take your time to match the wallpapers carefully.
Remember to trim any excess wallpaper with a sharp blade and scraper as a guide.
Make sure your blade is sharp when you cut wallpaper by breaking the blade every 2 to 3 cuts. Be careful while doing this!
Trim over sockets, wall-units or windows with the same steady cut using the utility knife and scraper.
Gently wipe excess glue using a damp sponge. Don't worry about wiping as our wallpapers have a waterproof coating on top!
